Class of 1964
Dan O'Neill retired from the South Bend Fire Department in 1990 but is involved in keeping the history of the department alive by scanning and saving images of SBFD members putting out fires and going through the day-to-day routine of the firehouse. Some of these images date back to the 1950's and were hanging in various firehouses around the city. Dan has painstakingly worked to add names and places to identify the photos which currently amount to 1,500 images after two years of work.
Class of 1967
David Goulet has published his fourth novel entitled That's Life, the story of two teenager who meet in college but are pushed apart by a mother and her religious beliefs. The war in Viet Nam, serious injury, and fifteen years pass before a chance meeting between the two. Even then, drugs, diamond smuggling, prison, and murder entangle their lives before they
reunite though secrets are still kept.
David is also the author of Desert Snow, Coming of Age, and The Reunion.
Class of 1989
Nathan Gunn was inducted into the South Bend Community Hall of Fame on November 15th at Century Center in South Bend. Nathan is a world renowned operatic baritone and a 2009 Grammy Award winner for best opera recording. He is currently on the faculty at the University of Illinois, is the Swandlund Chair and the co-director of the Lyric Theater at Illinois.
Holly Kuzmich is the Executive Director of the George W. Bush Institute in Dallas, Texas. The Institute staff presents policy recommendations on domestic and global issues that face the United States and the global community.
Class of 2000
Peter Buttigieg, Mayor of South Bend, has announced that he will not seek a third term as Mayor. On April 14, Mayor Pete formally announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2020 election.
James Mueller won the May Democratic primary for Mayor of South Bend and will run as the party candidate in the November election.
Nick Pittman has been selected by the South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce as a member of the Forty Under 40 Class of 2019. The Chamber annually recognizes forty local young executives, professionals, and leaders who have demonstrated career success and significant community engagement before the age of 40. Nick and other honorees will be celebrated at a luncheon on May 23rd.

Michael Schmuhl is the presidential campaign manager for South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
Class of 2006
Jake Teshka represents South Bend's 5th council district on the South Bend Common Council and has won his party's nomination in the May primary for another term.
Class of 2007
Drew Olson was ordained to the priesthood in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, June 29th, the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. The ordination took place at Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Madison and was followed on Saturday, June 30th by Drew's Mass of Thanksgiving at the Catholic Center on the University of Wisconsin campus.

Tyler Gillean has been nominated by voters in the May primary to run for the South Bend Common Council to represent the 4th district.

Kelly Scholl Jones is the Light of Learning Award winner from Our Lady of Hungary School in South Bend. She will be honored at the Diocesan Light of Learning banquet in the spring of 2019.

Juan Constantino was named the Outstanding Male Latino Young Professional in Indiana by the Latino Expo. He received his award at the Latino Expo Gala in Indianapolis on December 8th.
Class of 2013
Elizabeth Kuntz participates in the Cooking for Christ ministry at Saint Pius X parish. As part of the Young Adult parish group, she prepares casseroles four times a year at Saint Pius for delivery to the Center for the Homeless in South Bend. Each cooking session begins with a reflection and then, under the supervision of a chef, the casserole preparation and cooking begins. Elizabeth will graduate in December from the Indiana University South Bend School of Nursing.

Sofia Carozza has been selected as a Marshall Scholar to study in the United Kingdom. Click here for the story.
Michelle Weaver has been honored as the Big East Conference Defensive Player of the Year in Women's Basketball. Michelle totaled 100 steals for the season to lead the conference while averaging 33 minutes played per game as well as 7.4 points, 4.5 assists.
and 3.5 steals.
David Popoola has been accepted to Harvard Law School where he will begin studies in the Fall of 2019.
Lindsey Staszewski has been selected to the Academic All-Patriot League swimming and diving team for the second consecutive season as a member of the Loyola Maryland team. Lindsey has competed as a diver for Loyola and has also been a member of honor societies Beta Beta Beta, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Alpha Sigma Nu while compiling a 3.904 GPA as a Biology major. She has been a member of the prestigious Green and Grey Society which is comprised of 14 students who work directly with the university president. She capped off her academic career with induction into Phi Beta Kappa Society.

Annalena Bellm has been selected as a member of the Class of 2021 Sorin Scholars program at the University of Notre Dame. She was selected based on a competitive application process and her academic performance in the First Year Studies program at the University.

Alumni Memorial Mass
The next alumni Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 6 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Saint Joseph at the school, 453 N. Notre Dame Avenue.
