Dear Senior Parents:
The purpose of this letter is to call your attention to some items of particular importance to
you and your senior student. First, Baccalaureate Mass for the Class of 2018 will be
celebrated Sunday, June 3, 2018, at the St. Pius X Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. The
Graduation ceremony will be held in the Joyce Center at the University of Notre Dame on
either Sunday, June 3, 2018, following the Mass or Monday, June 4, 2018, in the evening.
The date will be confirmed in January after the university completes some construction and scheduling. A complete list of important senior activities will appear in later issues of
SOUNDINGS, the parent newsletter. Please save the list for future reference. Seniors are
also apprised of this information during morning announcements and on the senior class
bulletin board located in the Theology Hall.
A very important meeting for the parents of seniors will take place on Tuesday, October 3
at 6:30 p.m. in the Leep Family Dining Hall. The meeting will be co-hosted by Mrs. Dana
Strabavy, Director of Counseling, Mr. Bob Tull, Assistant Principal for Student Affairs, and
myself as Senior Class Moderator. Mark Flueckinger, the representative for Jostens, will
also be present. The meeting will address a number of topics of significance to seniors
ranging from finalizing college options to the ordering of graduation materials. The evening
should provide a great deal of information and may save you some phone calls in the
future. Please plan to attend.
One of the highlights of the senior year is the video, which is shown at the Senior Dinner. Our goal is to have every senior represented in the video. We would like at least a “young”
picture and a senior picture, but group photographs will also be accepted. Information on
how to transmit these photos via the Internet to the student producers will be available
later this school year
We look forward to seeing you on October 3.
